Grid-induced turbulence using pisoFoam

Dear All,

I am performing a model-scale LES to replicate wind tunnel results. The simulation uses the Xie-Castro mass-corrected turbulence inlet and has several refinement boxes.

The issue is that there seems to be a generation of turbulence when the cell size changes. I have witnessed this before in OpenFOAM in cases where there has been no inlet turbulence.

Also note that the mesh was generated using HEXPRESS/hybrid.

Can anyone provide some insight or a solution to this problem?
