Dear Foamers,

I have just installed openFoam 1.6 ext on CAELinux 2013 (Ubuntu 12.04) to simulate Internal Combustion Engine with topological changes.
Here is simpleEngineStem based on sonicTurbDyMEngineFoam: https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/op...tml#post302104

I just type: bash Allrun.sh in terminal and simulation runs. After ~15000s it ends and then I run paraFoam to preview mesh changes. Unfortunately only '0' timestep load properly. When I change timestep warning appears:

Quote:
Warning: In /build/buildd/paraview-3.14.1/VTK/IO/vtkOpenFOAMReader.cxx, line 4725
vtkOpenFOAMReaderPrivate (0x2388320): Numbers of faces in faces 11015 and owner 10955 does not match

ERROR: In /build/buildd/paraview-3.14.1/VTK/Filtering/vtkExecutive.cxx, line 756
vtkPVCompositeDataPipeline (0x2384210): Algorithm vtkPOpenFOAMReader(0x2375b60) returned failure for request: vtkInformation (0x2eb0760)
Debug: Off
Modified Time: 224439
Reference Count: 1
Registered Events: (none)
Request: REQUEST_DATA
ALGORITHM_AFTER_FORWARD: 1
FORWARD_DIRECTION: 0
FROM_OUTPUT_PORT: 0
I have found two possible solutions but both of them not work for me.

Solution one:
VTK error running paraView
I can't load paraFoam due to lack of ./system/controlDict
When I put controDict to ./VTK/system/ and run paraFoam new warning appears:
Quote:
[...] file [...]/VTK.foam contains no timestep data.
Solution two:
https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/op...tml#post570854
I believe this solution couldn't work for case with topological changes.

I am very interested in simulation of ICE and this simpleEngineStem is the only working case - best for further modifications.

I would be grateful if someone could help me find any solution.

Have a nice day.

I think I was able to preview other timesteps because I created video of engine. Unfortunately I can't remember how was it done and I forget to put the solution in this thread.
You need to figure it out by Yourself.

Thank you for your reply. Actually I could find my problem. It was regarding compiling my own solver. When I did the compilation in foam user app bin, the error was gone.
