When running interFoam damBreak tutorial, the field values of water are not shown (when running paraFoam) at time zero - the water field appears blank. The water field is set correctly using the setFields executable....
the subsequent time steps (0.1, 0.2 etc) show the water field as expected but the initial water field at time 0.0 is blank - why is this ? Note: Other cases such as the lockExchange (twoLiquidMixingFoam) do show the correct field values at time zero. |

Which version of ParaView are you using? In the latest ones there is an option "Skip zero time", you must uncheck it.
In previous versions there is a bug and sometimes time 0 fails to be represented. I have not found any way around. Try to load the boundaries rather than the internal mesh and you will see that your alpha field is set correctly. Best, Pablo |

Hi Pablo, Thanks for your reply. I'm using Paraview 5.0 (paraFoam).
I'd be interested to know where the setting is - to change "ignore 1st time-step" (Edit > Settings > General ?) As mentioned it seems an erratic problem, some cases it works, others it doesn't. But I noticed on the default interFoam damBreak tutorial it does not work for me. I'm currently using multiphaseEulerFoam, and it has not been a problem with that! Regards Giles. |

The "Skip zero time" checkbox is right below the Refresh button using ParaView reader in version 5.3, not paraFoam reader.
I agree it is quite erratic. Best, Pablo |
