fsiFoam tutorials won't run
 

Hi All,

I'm new here. I apologize if I'm not posting in the correct subforum.

I'm a fairly competent OpenFoam user working on MAC OS X. I have installed and run tutorial problems in foam-extend-4.0 with no problem. However, I installed the Fluid-structure interaction toolkit (Fsi_40.tar.gz --> FluidSolidInteraction when unzipped) and I can't run the tutorials.

When I try to run the 3dTube tutorial with ./Allrun I get the a series of errors all containing the line:

Abort trap: 6 $APP_RUN $* > $LOG_NAME 2>&1

No, I didn't manage to fix it. I tried install earlier versions of foam-extend and fsiFoam, it's still not working but I'm getting different errors...

I try it on Ubuntu, it works well. But on a Cray XC40 supercomputer， it doesn't work and occurs the above errors. I checked the log.blockmesh, I found it is successful. But log.setSet, it failed and reminded me "a ")"request in the line...".Then I checked the point-file in the folder of polymesh, but it is normal. I am so confused.

OK, so I got fsiFoam/FluidSturctureInteraction to work on my Mac -- but to do that I had to download Oracle's VirtualBox to run a virtual Ubuntu OS on my Mac. Then I followed the directions for installing foam-extend and FluidStructureInteraction on Linux and everything works fine. It's kind of an extreme solution, but it works. The openFoam documentation is just so much better for Linux than for Mac OS.
