Hi
I am writing my master thesis about simulation of non-Newtonian fluid flow in porous media,I am using openFoam -The model for non-Newtonian fluid is Herschel-Bulkley -The geometry consists of 28 uniform spheres, and the computational domain is the space between the sphere. In the touching areas between the spheres i made spheres to reduce the touching area to avoid non convergence due to not enough elements, cause it is very small areas - The mesh is generated in ICEM the boundary conditions are: fixed velocity at the inlet and fixed pressure at the outlet. - It is a steady state and the solver is simpleFoam. - The schemes are uploaded and I have used them before for another geometry obtained from micro-ct scanner and it was converging. First I was the running the simulation for around one million elements and the residual for vx for example was stuck around the value 0.03, then after refining the mesh to have around 10 million elements the residual was stuck around 0.006. I tried to refine it more but the residual was stuck again at the same point knowing that I am running it for water not even for non-Newtonian fluid yet. I uploaded the case that I am running now (but i couldnt upload the mesh cause it is very big file), hoping that someone might have an idea of what is missing. Any hint would be super useful. Thank you |
