Hi,

I have given links below to my pointwise file(mesh file) and my two case folders, one with blockMesh mesh and another with Pointwise mesh.

The flow problem is of PlaneJet.

No matter what I do, I am unable to get the U matrix solvers to converge, i.e max 1000 iterations reached at every time step.

Just to run I am using PCG solver for pressure, but I am unable to get correct results.

For simplicity I am trying to run a laminar case with rhoSimpleFoam.

I am not sure where I am going wrong, I have tried atleast 20 different permutations with different number of cells, different density in the jet layer etc. but I haven't found any success.

I am really stuck with this, any help would be very appreciated

Here is the link for all the attachments (google drive)

For reference, I got some suggestions from this thread but didn't solve my problem

Just use "renumberMesh" on the pointwise mesh. And it just works.

"renumberMesh" utility is supposed to reduce the bandwidth of iterative solvers and should not alter the correctness of results, so I am not sure if it is a bug in Pointwise generated mesh or the openfoam reading of the data.

If anyone knows anything further in this regard, please share it.

I was having similar issues but for rhoCentralFoam.

Renumbering the pointwise mesh helped significantly with initial convergence and number of iterations required. Can recommend at least trying it if you are having issues with a pointwise derived mesh.

Good luck!
