unphysical behavior in twoPhaseEulerFoam
 

I am working on bubble column problem. While plotting U.air and alpha.air, I found that solver is giving value of air velocity at points where alpha.air is nearly zero.

I don't know why it does that. I am using OF-3.0.1 version for my simulations. I have read several threads where same behavior was reported but the reason for that behavior was phase-intensive form of conservation equations. Since OF-3.0.1 is written in conservative form, this problem shouldn't arrive. Please help!!

It seems to me there isn't a problem here for me since in the continuum approach, all your variables are defined in each cell of your mesh.

But as you mention, this velocity doesn't make any sense if the phase is not present. In my opinion, you should ignore this gas velocity when alpha = 0.
