Dear all,

I'm trying to simulate mach reflection and mach stem generation using sonicFoam. The geometry includes a wedge of 21deg angle and the freestream velocity is about 3Mach. Although the simulation runs for several iterations, suddenly crashes, appearing an fatal error: "Maximum number of iteration exceeded".

Is it a problem with the solver(sonicFoam) or with the boundary conditions??Has anyone ever simulate mach reflection and mach stem generation??

Hi there,

The error that you are referring to comes from the following step:

thermo.correct()

It indicates that one of the thermodynamic variables (p, T, rho, e etc.) has become negative. Try to reduce maxCo and give it a try. Might work.
