OpenFOAM 2D benchmarking

Hi there,

I'm looking at recreating the 2D benchmarking tests from the UK environment agency. Firstly, does anyone know if this has already been done and where I could find the results of the tests? The original study is here: http://evidence.environment-agency.g...port.sflb.ashx

If I was to recreate these tests myself, I need to simulate the depth of water across topography with an inflow depth time series. I have done extensive research, but I am a brand new OpenFOAM/CFD user and I still have a few questions I wanted to ask here.

1. What solver should I be using for this type of simulation if the results I want are the depth of water at a point over time?
2. Are there are any programs out there to develop a 2D OpenFOAM mesh from a DEM?
3. How can I input a depth time series boundary condition.
4. Can depth, d, be a file in the 0 folder or am I only allowed velocity, U?
