mathartist is on a distinguished road
I'm converting a Solver from OpenFOAM 2.3 to 5.0 and I'm facing an issue w.r.t turbulence modelling as they are very different in both the versions.

The 2.3 version has two directories in the src folder named as turbulencemodels and Turbulencemodels while the 5.0 version has a single Turbulencemodels. Can anyone tell how and why such a change was brought about?

Thanks !

What you describe, the folders src/turbulenceModel and src/TurbulenceModel being present, is the transition from the old/initial implementation of turbulence modelling to the new one. This transition was completed with OpenFOAM-3.0.

See The commit message by Henry Weller and the Release Notes of OpenFOAM-3.0
