set Critical Reynolds number - RANS k-w-SST

Hey everybody,

Still quite new to openfoam and was doing some simulations to see how openfoam compares with reality.
I ran 3 different cases to check how simplefoam handles a flat plate and found that for the high Re form of the k-w-sst both cases (1 w/o surface rougness and 1 with surface roughness) show transition occurring at Re_x ~ 5.0e5 (see attached images), which makes sense for a flat plate without roughness, but not necessarily for other cases.

My question is, is there a way to change the critical Re_x criterion such that transition occurs at lower Reynolds numbers?
I'll be moving to airfoils with surface roughness soon and would like it to transition somewhere between 1.0e5-3.0e5.

Thanks in advance!

Timo
