reactingFoam
Hey guys,
I have some problems with reactingFoam. I want to simply calculate the combustion on a premixed swirl burner with a methane-air mixture. The problem is that the reaction occurs in the pipe before the swirler. Does anybody have an idea what is the reason for this behaviour? I use a Hybrid-Mesh, PaSR and Phi=1, full-premixed Thank you! Results for reacting flows are hugely dependent on choice of reaction mechanism and combustion modeling (if at all). If I recall correctly, the PaSR scales the chemical timescale against the turbulence timescale (or vice-versa). If you are seeing unphysical behavior, it could be a good time to reevaluate model coefficients, to look for a mechanism tuned to your application, or to see if there are physics that you are erroneously including or missing (eg preheating). A good first step would be to look at the PaSR model coefficients.
