Default k-omega SST RANS of a supersonic cavity using rhoCentralFoam

Hi all,

I'm simulating a supersonic cavity in rhoCentralFoam using SST k-omega model. My only problem is that the pressure fluctuations are slowly dying down. Why is this occuring? Anyone has a clue about this? Kindly reply asap.

Hi Anjay,

Thanks for your reply.

Inlet - initial velocity profile given and inlet pressure provided.
Walls - No slip and Zerogradient for pressure.
Outlet - Wavetransmissive for pressure and velocity.
Top - Wall

Initial conditions:
Inlet pressure = 39386.2 Pa
Mach 2.0 and Temperature = 166.66 K

y+ is 20.
Standard Wall functions are implemented in OpenFOaM.
Solver: rhoCentralFoam

Hey,

Your initial values for k and omega are very important as well.

This link might help. The turbulence dissipation might be causing your problems.
