Hello

I am interested in learning about DEM-CFD coupling modelling in OpenFOAM. However, when I read the solver descriptions, I got confused about how to select an appropriate solver for my simulation.

The simulation is about spraying water (like fog) in a simple box with only one inlet and one outlet and obviously, the fluid flow is turbulent(~ Re=10000). The discharge of the air and fog are given. The simulation temperature is equal to room temperature in this case.

The question is that, by these given data, how can I select a suitable solver?

Is there any document or tutorial that shows the procedure of modelling?

Please correct me if I am wrong also:

icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam is not a suitable solver for this simulation because the simulation is not passive transport. Is it correct?

But what about sprayFoam or DPMFoam? if I want to select DPMFoam, does volume fraction of particles effects on the continuous phase?

Thank you in advance

Hello

I'm in the same situation and confusion like you @rezaeimahdi. SprayFoam is for compressible flow thus I think DPMFoam is more suitable for the above said case. Which solver did you used? How's the results?
