Hello everyone,

I was doing a pipe flow simulation using pimpleFoam. This gave realistic results and it went well.
Since I wanted to add particles I ran the same simulation with DPMFoam. This made the flow insanely strong, which is impossible. I assumed that the added particles caused this problem, so I ran it again whilst turning off the kinematicCloudProperties, this did not change the results.

In the attachments I added two pictures, first one shows the steady state result with pimpleFoam, second one with DPMFoam.

I have an inlet and jet patch which have a 7m/s flow through them, and the outlets are zeroGradient. For the pressure I use fixedFluxPressure at the inlet and jet, this calculates the pressure at these patches in order to reach the required velocity. At the outlets I have a fixed pressure of 0 bar.
By applying this on pimpleFoam, I get a simulation that shows a maximum velocity of 9.6m/s, which is realistic. The second simulation gets a maximum velocity of 37m/s, which should be impossible.

I was wondering why the results in DPMFoam aren't realistic and how to solve this. I thought that DPMFoam also used the pimple algorithm in order to solve the fluid dynamics.
