Rayleigh Taylor instability with interFoam

3 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,

I am new to two phase flow simulation. I am doing Rayleigh Taylor simulation in OpenFoam using interFoam solver. I tried noSlip and zeroGradient for the condition of U but the result is not good. I've attached the pictures of the phase field results in order using noSlip, zeroGradient condition and also the wanted result. Maybe I did something wrong in another part. Could anyone help me with this problem?

Thank you in advance :)

zeroGradient appears to be correct, have you checked the rest of your sim is good?
Is the grid resolution enough, is the timestep good etc etc?
Have you checked what the settings were from your reference image?

Use cyclic boundary condition

I have the similar issue, I fixed it by
using cyclic boundary condition for U, p_rgh and alpha.water

Hello ninipribi,

I am also trying to solve a Rayleigh-Taylor instability problem following the work of Lopez.
I am getting result similar to your first picture. I tried using zeroGradient condition for all pressure and U. I am still getting same result as the first picture.

I would be very thankful if you explain how you got the second the result.
