chtMultiRegionFoam in of6 Simple Mode

Hi

Quick Question

Can anyone one guide me how to run chtMultiRegionFoam in openFoam 6 in steadyState mode, with Simple algorithm.

PS: I have a high velocity so I want to get rid of CFL number.

Thanks

What you've done is ask a quick question asking for a long response.
chtMultiRegionFoam uses PIMPLE, you don't get to choose which algorithm is used unless you compile yourself.
You can use steadyState or localEuler time schemes to obtain steady-state solutions with a transient solver.
I'd suggest using localEuler, setting maxCo to 0.5 and setting up residual control.

Hi,
I am also trying to run steady state. Are there any tutorials involving steady-state? I am using OFv6 and I can't find any steady-state tutorials.

I have few questions regarding chtMultiRegionFoam

Why all the tutorials are using p_rgh as defining the B.C. and then calculating the p?

Please
Thanks

Hello,

What is the reason to have choose the PIMPLE loop to reach steady state?
The old chtMultiRegioSimpleFoam outperforms in term of computation time chtMultiRegionFoam for steady cases.
With high density solid and Co number close to 1 it takes days to reach steady states....
Maybe someone knows how to set up properly the PIMPLE to have same efficiency than SIMPLE?
