What happened to foamExec in OF-v1812 or v1906?

Good day.

Why was the script bin/foamExec dropped in OpenFOAM v1812? It's not in v1906 either.

Is there an alternative to foamExec for v1812 and v1906 with the same functionality?

Issue report 1309, "foamExec file is missing," was created on 5/3/2019 and was closed with no fix. https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop...us/issues/1309

However, foamExec is called in bin/foamJob, so its absence breaks foamJob, yes?

The missing foamExec is only an issue for OF-v1812 and -1906. OF-7 still contains foamExec.

I created issue report 1411 to address the impact on foamJob. https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop...us/issues/1411
