hello, I am new to OpenFoam and CFd , i have been working on a simple model of an exhaust fan with a steady flow , i have meshed the model , but not sure how to go about simulating it ,
any help would be very much appreciated .

Dear CFDJunior,

for CFD simulations you always have to do the following
  • Geometry preparation
  • Geometry meshing
  • Defining boundary conditions
  • Running and solving your equations
  • Postprocessing

Please read the User-Guide of OpenFOAM to get more familiar with these topics.

Hi,
Thank you ,
I have done the first three processes, the meshing is done , the constant file has been prepared with boundary conditions, now I need to use simpleFoam as a solver to solve the equations and need to setup the system and 0 files,
I am not sure how to go about the next few steps even after reading the user guide

I am kind of stuck at making fvOptions for the system file

OK , now i have made some progress on the exhaust fan , but now i am kind of stuck in specifying the geometry or the coordinates needed for snappyhexmesh dictionary .
I took the system file from the rotatingfan in the room tutorial .
Is there any way to find the coordinates needed for this ?
