Issue with inlet boundary condition (SurfaceNormalFixedValue)

2 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I have run a steady simulation on a geometry using SurfaceNormalFixedValue as the inlet boundary type:

inlet
{
type surfaceNormalFixedValue;
refValue uniform -0.1218; //neg. so that flow is into the model //0.1218 m/s
}

However when checking the inlet velocity in paraview there seems to be a section of much higher velocity at the corner of the inlet (see attached picture).

Any ideas?

Hi, please check your inlet patch and the orientation of your inlet patch faces. Are they correctly oriented? The glyphs tells us, that the faces are somehow bad oriented.
