[Urgent] Matching results to physical data using interFoam
1 Attachment(s)
Dear All,
I am newbie to use openFOAM. Recently, I am using the software to produce back-analyses to match my physical results (impact forces on a wall and a deflector, flow velocity, flow depth, and run-up height). The whole setting is attached for your reference. I read the posts in this forum that 'nut' file dominates the boundary conditions. When I use 'nutkWallFunction', the impact force on a wall is ~100N, which is twice times to my physical results. Therefore, I did try to change to 'nutkRoughWallFunction'. Initially , I set all Ks, Cs and 'value' = 0.05 and the impact force on a wall reduced to ~79N. However, when I increase Ks to 0.1, the following error message shown. #0 Foam::error::printStack(Foam::Ostream&) at ??:? #1 Foam::sigFpe::sigHandler(int) at ??:? #2 ? in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6" #3 double Foam::sumProd<double>(Foam::UList<double> const&, Foam::UList<double> const&) at ??:? #4 Foam::PCG::solve(Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double> const&, unsigned char) const at ??:? #5 Foam::fvMatrix<double>::solveSegregated(Foam::dict ionary const&) at ??:? #6 Foam::fvMatrix<double>::solve(Foam::dictionary const&) in "/opt/openfoam7/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/interFoam" #7 Foam::fvMatrix<double>::solve() in "/opt/openfoam7/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/interFoam" #8 ? in "/opt/openfoam7/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/interFoam" #9 __libc_start_main in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6" #10 ? in "/opt/openfoam7/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/interFoam" The mesh after sHM was checked and it is OK. Can I know what parameters I can play to calibrate the numerical model in order to match the physical results? Many Thanks for all kind help. Cheers, Kelvin |
>> Can I know how to calibrate the numerical model to match the physical results? And what others parameters I can change, so that to match all FIVE parameters I mentioned above?
IMHO, you need to first reduce the extent of your question(s), which is as wide as Kardashian's left butt check, otherwise nobody will be able to give effective help here. |

Forgive me that I am stuck and frustrating on how to calibrate the model. |
Apologize that I may be a bit rush, but, it there anyone know what parameters I can play, so that the the numerical results match the physical one?
Many Thanks, Kelvin |
Is there anyone who can help to debug the problems? Apologize for the rush.
