I'm currently playing with systemCalls to adjust the Courant number of a pimpleFoam simulation with an abrupt start.
Courant ~ 1 keeps the starting instabilities under control, but I feel I can go much higher after that.
I think an efficient method would adjust the Courant number based on the maximum number of iterations required to solve the pressure field over a specified time-range up to the current time (in my case I would use a period).
Does that make sense and has anyone already performed such adaptation?
