Dear OpenFOAM users,

I am doing research about the suction pressure distribution on the bottom caused by a ship propeller. These suction pressure are generated at the intake side of the propeller. The inlet velocity is chosen to be equal to zero.

When I run my numerical model, the suction pressures are indeed generated, but I saw that far upstream of the propeller, the pressure is still negative instead of the zero Pressure value. I have added a screenshot which should clarify my problem. Intuitively, the pressure should assymptotically go the zero upstream of the propeller. Instead the pressure goes asymptotically to -4.99 Pa. This is a wrong result as far upstream, the bottom will not feel the presence of the propeller, so the pressure should be 0 here.

Is there anyone who has experienced the same problem? I am thinking something is not right with my boundary conditions at the inlet. I tried multiple other ones, but I can't find a solution.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Louis
