Hello Team, I'm looking to compare twoPhaseEulerFoam (2PEF) and CFDEM setup via simulating minimum fluidization velocity. The particle diameter is 1.2 mm.

1. Are there any recommendations / suggestions for cell sizes?
2. Can we have a cell size less than diameter of particle size?

Thank you,
Jagan Mohan.

1. well, normally you should choose the cell size, so your result should not change with further refinement. mesh or grid independant so to say.

2. i ran multiphaseEulerFoam and had crashes when my cell size was 80% of my drop diameter or so.
i don't know if there is any restriction with regards to velocity, so i don't know if it is problematic if your fluid passes multiple cells within one timestep.

it would be nice if you could share your experience afterwards.

regards
