Hello Team, I'm looking to compare twoPhaseEulerFoam (2PEF) and CFDEM setup via simulating minimum fluidization velocity. The particle diameter is 1.2 mm.
1. Are there any recommendations / suggestions for cell sizes? 2. Can we have a cell size less than diameter of particle size? Thank you, Jagan Mohan. |

1. well, normally you should choose the cell size, so your result should not change with further refinement. mesh or grid independant so to say.
2. i ran multiphaseEulerFoam and had crashes when my cell size was 80% of my drop diameter or so. i don't know if there is any restriction with regards to velocity, so i don't know if it is problematic if your fluid passes multiple cells within one timestep. it would be nice if you could share your experience afterwards. regards |
