Hi,
I am a newbie using overset Mesh. I have set up a case using PimpleFoam to run a propeller analysis. Instead of using a proper propeller, I have used a circular disk to rotate, to see if I can get it work. But, for some reason, the analysis uses 1e-17 timestep after a certain time period, when I have checked the mesh in that range, the mesh is getting distorted after certain time. I have included the checkMesh result log file in this thread

Hi,

overset should not deform mesh, so there's almost certainly something wrong with your setup, either in dynamicMeshDict or in initial conditions 0.
The timestep decrease is due to your simulation crashing (due to your mesh becoming bad), and the adaptative timestep trying to recover from that.

Hi Benn,
I have tried and crosschecked my setup. I have included the dynamicMeshDict in this thread. You are right, not all the elements are rotating, a few elements are being selected as a cellZone when I keep the end time as 1, but when I keep the end time at 0.01, the solve is being successful, where all the elements are being selected. Does the end time have any role in running the solve?
