particle-laden gas injection in a liquid column

Hello Everyone,

I am new to OpenFOAM and I have started working on multiphase modeling.

I want to model a particle-laden gas injection in a water column.
I have used interFoam and icoReactingMultiphaseInterFoam solvers to create a simple bubble in a water column.

However, I am not sure how to introduce a third phase particles in a gas. I need you suggestions, which solver will be best suitable to model my case.
Through literature I came to know that VOF-DPM based solvers can help in building the case.
Do I need to create new solver or existing solvers can work for me.

I am using OpenFOAM-v2006 version.

Thank you

I think you need to integrate Lagrangian functionality into the solvers you use, look for example here: http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...LPT_120911.pdf

As you might want to use VoF-solvers, you should consider keeping your particles in a specific phase. There is a cloudFunctionObject for that called "ParticleTrap".

Dear sir,
Thank you so much for the reply. This is a great help and the link shared by you is very helpful. VOF with LPT I want to use and I am going through the shared literature. If you have more literature related to this, please do share.

Thank you once again.
