laplaceFaceDecomposition for simpleEngine tutorial isnt available in foam-extend-4.1
 

Hello foamers,

I am trying to simulate the simpleEngine problem posted by Dr. Hrvoje Jasak in an earlier post in 2011-2012 using foam-extend-1.6 (if i understand correctly), but unfortunately, the laplaceFaceDecomposition motion solver seems to be gone from the current foam-extend version. I had a few questions for more experienced foamers.

1) Does anyone understand the history of this solver omission decision?

2) What is the recommended alternative by the community for this example and is there a more recent version of the simpleEngine tutorial that Dr. Jasak's one in the 2011-2012 blogpost?

3) Is there someone in the community that is also interested in this problem and can collaborate with me to extend the simpleEngine tutorial to more complex geometry (4-stroke tilted valve DI engine problem)?
