interFoam - different results compared to others in a micro T-junction
2 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I am struggling with not getting similar results compared to results reported by others in papers. I have tried simulating 4-5 T junction cases and I use the exact values for parameters and velocities reported in papers, yet the results are very different... Can you please help me find what I am doing wrong? I should be getting nice droplets formed in the channel, yet I get two flows moving parallel to each other  btw, my simulation is 2D in OpenFoam 8. In fvSolution I have: "alpha.oil.*" { nAlphaCorr 3; nAlphaSubCycles 3; cAlpha 0.75; MULESCorr yes; nLimiterIter 5; solver smoothSolver; smoother symGaussSeidel; tolerance 1e-8; relTol 0; } . . . PIMPLE { momentumPredictor yes; nOuterCorrectors 1; nCorrectors 3; nNonOrthogonalCorrectors 1; } I have checked small courant numbers, different grad schemes, different calpha (0.5-2), Mules nLimiterIter (3-15), different number of PIMPLE corrector (2-5) and non-orthogonal corrector (0-2) and nothing has helped me get the results I am supposed to get. Can you help me please? I really need to figure this out for my PhD. Many thanks. |
Hello Mary,
You posted the thread a while ago but your subject is really close to my research. I am simulating two phase flow in micro T-junction too and using interFoam. By mimicking experimental conditions, I manage to get emulsion of the same length/shape as my experiments but not the same mean velocity or periodic generation. Did you encounter those difficulties as well ? Or do you have any advice/hints ? Thanks for your time! Sincerely, Santhosh |
