Melting and Solidification with interFoam

Hello everyone!!
I have just started with OpenFOAM and facing a lot of difficulties. I am running a bit late because of the pandemic and request you all if anyone can help me in anyway. I am working on Selective laser melting(SLM). I have been successful in creating a powder bed in LIGGGHTS. Now, I want to do the melting and solidification in OpenFOAM. I have learnt that interFoam is used for volume of fluid. I just to get started with a simple block. I want to melt the top surface of block with a moving laser. I request you all to please help in anyway possible as how to start with this. How to combine melting and solidification with interFoam? or any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

We will be releasing a solver next week on GitHub called beamWeldFoam. This solver will do everything you need I think. It’s in active development but should at least give you some starters.
