Modeling pressure wave in porous media

Hi Foammers,

Have anyone ever crossed with references for pressure-wave across porous media? Pressure from compressibility/transient effects.

I have to simulate the transient of tube rupture in a shell-tube heat exchanger, shell side. However, the proper mesh to comprise all 400+ tubes and 6+m length shell will require a pc way beyond the I have (16-core).

Does anyone have an idea of a possible approach? I thought in use porous media to model the restricted flow over the tubes, but I'm not sure how the pressure wave will behave. I also thought in bundling some tubes together preserving the spacing, but that will change the wave trajectory.

Thanks!
