Hi
I am currently working with icoReactingmultiphaseInterFoam solver in openfoam1906. I知 trying to use contact angle boundary condition for alpha_liquid or alpha_gas. But I知 not successful and always the result is the same by using different contact angles.
Has anybody been able to use this kind of boundary condition with this solver?
I知 wondering if there is a mistake in my way of entering this boundary condition or this solver is not compatible with contact angle.
In this post, I have attached two baseCases. One case using interFoam solver with contact angle of 30 degree and another is using icoReactingMultiphaseInterFoam with contact angle of 30 degree. The results for the latter (icoReactingMultiphaseInterFoam) should be like interfoam, but when you run it with openfoam 1806 or 1812 or 1906, they won稚 be.
I知 wondering if there is a mistake in my way of entering this boundary condition or this solver is not compatible with constantAlphaContactAngle boundary condition.

Hello Aliyah.,

I am using icoReactingMultiphaseInterFoam solver for simulate the flow boiling problem. I am facing the same problem in OpenFoam 1912. I could not able to simulate the flow boiling problem with contact angle in OF1912. contact angle is must required in my problem. I tried several times by adding constant contact angle value in alpha.liquid property but I didn't get any success. I did not find any change in the result with contact angle and without contact angle in icoReactingMultiphaseInterFoam solver.

Please help me if you have found a solution.

Hello, and no. As some experts told me the contact angle model is exclusive for two Phase systems, not for multi-phase systems. The problem lies in that in (icoreactingmultiphaseinterfoam) we solve for all the phases and expect that the sum = 1, then the BC's are applied to all the phases. Contact angle should be developed especially for this solver.

ok, I think IcoreatingMultiphaseINterfoam is somehow linked to multiphaseinterFOAM. you may check
