Add uncoupled particles to buoyant solver

Hi all,

is there an out-of-box possibility to add uncoupled ("one way coupled") particles to a buoyant solver, i. e. buoyantSimpleFoam?

I've tried the pluggable solver icoUncoupledKinematicCloud, but it doesn't seem to find the fluid density information, since transportProperties is here thermophysicalProperties ...

My simulation is steady state and I'm using v2006

i am new to CFD, i wonder why would you want to insert particles on a steady-state simulation? wouldn't it be better just to plot the streamlines?

cause I'm interested in the particles dynamics (think of rain)

I don't have any answer for your specific problem, maybe you could try a different solver as a test, however, there is a paraview filter called particle tracking (or something similar) it insert massless particles that follow the velocity field.
