GerardBouchar is on a distinguished road
Hi,

I would like to simulate current induced by wind on a lake with OpenFoam.
I have a time series of wind direction and speed that i would like to use as a boundary condition and see what is the current induced by my wind.
I am only interested by current on surface.

I have considered the three followings approach :

  • treat my problem as a multiphase (wind / water) case
  • treat my problem as a lid cavity case
  • apply a " shear stress boundary conditions" derived from my winds
I am new to openFoam, i have only achieved the basics tutorials (dam break, lid cavity, ...) but i am still not able to figure out how to achieve my goal.
Do you think that openFoam is a suitable tool for this task ?
Could you provide me some help or a link to a similar/helpfull case.

Thank you very much.
