Hi,
I am working on boiling heat transfer phenomenon with conjugate heat transfer as well. I am following the tutorial of chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam (Solid quenching) as starting point. I am not sure about the boundary conditions which are imposed and the phase properties. Geometry of the considered problem is just a rectangular cross-section type. I am attaching the case directory. Please look at this. Following this, I will look into effect of the solid wall thickness on the boiling phenomenon. I want to visualize the rising bubbles from the boiling process. Regards, Govind |

I worked on that and replaced the previous case with vertical wall boiling. I resolved to some extent boundary conditions' issue. But now, I ran into different of problem. When I execute the chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam, it gives:
Selecting phaseModel for gas: purePhaseModel Selecting diameterModel for phase gas: isothermal Selecting thermodynamics package { type heRhoThermo; mixture pureMixture; transport const; thermo hConst; equationOfState perfectGas; specie specie; energy sensibleEnthalpy; } Foam::heRhoThermo<Foam::rhoThermo, pureMixture<Foam::constTransport<Foam::species::th ermo<Foam::hConstThermo<perfectGas<Foam::specie> >, Foam::sensibleEnthalpy> > > >::calculate(Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh> const&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>&, bool) at ??:? oam::twoPhaseSystem::adddictionaryConstructorToTab le<Foam::ThermalPhaseChangePhaseSystem<Foam::Phase TransferPhaseSystem<Foam::TwoResistanceHeatTransfe rPhaseSystem<Foam::MomentumTransferPhaseSystem<Foa m::twoPhaseSystem> > > > >::New(Foam::fvMesh const&) at ??:? Floating point exception (core dumped). I am not getting any clue about this. Regards, Govind |

I, myself, solved the issues pertaining with boundary conditions. It was some daunting task but got to know many things. As solver is running, but I am working on to get the physically correct solution.
Actually, what I think that pressure boundary conditions for "p" and "prgh" need to be validated correctly. I am solving the "wall heating" problem from "CFD simulation of conjugate heat transfer with flull boiling in OpenFOAM" for high pressure mass flow rate. Input of the problem as: mass flow rate = 900 kg/s Pressure = 4.5MPa. Another issue, I am facing the "nut" condition. If I use laminar flow then its fine, but not with turbulent flow. Any suggestion will be helpful. Regards, Govind |

Hello Govind, what version of OpenFOAM do you use?, in the version that I use (OF4Win 20.09) the solver chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEulerFoam is not included.
Thanks in advance. |
