Hello everyone,
I have a question that I can't find an answer to after searching and decided to ask here for some help. I have created a mesh with a y+ < 1 and intend to run a simulation in OpenFOAM using kOmegaSST turbulence model. I have found online that kOmegaSST turbulence model is low-Re and can be used without wall functions. I know that the standard kEpsilon is a high-Re model that requires using wall functions. But what about the RNG kEpsilon and Realizable kEpsilon? do they require using wall functions? I am aware that there are some low-Re kepsilon models such as LaunderSharma kEpsilon but I am not interested in those models. My question is specifically about RNG kEpsilon and Realizable kEpsilon. can I use the same mesh with y+<1 used with kOmegaSST for RNG/Realizable kEpsilon or do I need to create a new mesh that satisfies y+ > 30? Thank you for your help |

As far as I know, only the kOmega models have a y+ insensitive wall-treatment available in OpenFOAM, but the RNG and realizable kEpsilon don't seem to have it, which would suppose you need to be in the log region (that is my limited understanding )
