Sinking object with 6dof

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to solve a transient problem where a ball is sinking into a domain. My initial guess has been trying to use pimpleFoam with a dynamic mesh and the 6dof module.

However, no matter what density I use, the object doesn't sink. I don't know if the solver is not able to recognize the gravity or I'm doing something wrong.

I have also tried to do this using interFoam and modifying the floatingObject tutorial in order to sink it, but the problem remains the same.

Has anyone faced this type of case before?

Best regards,

Hello Alejandro,

You are probably doing something wrong, I did a similar case before, based on the floatingObject tutorial. It should also work with pimpleFoam.

Regards,
Yann
