Hi,
I would like to give a brief about the problem that I am trying to solve. - High Speed Compressible Flow (CD Nozzle - Area Ratio (10.0)) - P0 (53.3 Bar) and T0 (3500K) - Objective is to identify if the throat chokes at the given total pressure at inlet. (I have already used an analytical isentropic relations to obtain critical pressure for choking and dimensions are selected appropriately. This exercise primarily acts as a sanity check.) Details on Simulation Setup - Inlet ( Total Pressure, Total Temperature, pressureInletOutletVelocity) - Outlet (Static Pressure, waveTransmissive BC(T,U) ) - Solver (rhoCentralFoam) - Co (0.05 Initially) - Flux Schemes (vanLeer) Mesh - All parameters are under limit except ***Number of edges not aligned with or perpendicular to non-empty directions: 197. Issues - Negative Initial Temperature Possible Strategies Used Already - Since, 53.3 Bar is a huge pressure drop. I tried a small pressure drop of the order for 1000 Pa and the simulation ran without any issue. - Used a stepped pressure approach (ramping up pressure slowly until I reach desired P0). But this resulted in negative Initial temperature. - Tried using fvOptions and setting a hard limit for temperature. Later from forum understood that rhocentralFoam doesnot have fvOptions. Kinldy share your thoughts on the same. |
