Hi all,

I am a new user to OpenFOAM and trying to start easy. Ran IcoFoam case for flow around a cylinder (similar to this one) without issue. I am transporting this case to a final setup I want to build towards in reactingFoam. The setup is oriented vertical with open atmospheric boundary conditions on the sides. The inlet field is 700 C air (O2/N2). I'm running openfoam2506, but get similar issue with openfoam12.

The issue is that temperature explodes after about 0.8 s. What am I doing wrong? I am guessing boundary conditions? I see residuals as nan in PIMPLE iterations. Any help is appreciated!

I get warnings like this -

Code:
--> FOAM Warning :
    From Foam::scalar Foam::janafThermo<EquationOfState>::limit(Foam::scalar) const [with EquationOfState = Foam::perfectGas<Foam::specie>; Foam::scalar = double]
    in file ./src/thermophysicalModels/specie/lnInclude/janafThermoI.H at line 120
    attempt to use janafThermo<EquationOfState> out of temperature range 200 -> 5000;  T = -8.01293e+16

Hi, D.C. Do you solve this problem? I also met the temperature out of range problem followed by float exception. At the beginning, my simulation only can run within 5 steps (time step:1e-6s), I followed the answers Low-Re Modelling to modified BC and it could let the simulation reach at 9e-5s, then the temperature problem still occurred, through the contours, I think the BC conditions might be the primary barrier.
