hi everybody,

Does anybody here have experience of simulating a floating body with moorings in a wave tank or have seen such a model?

I have seen integrating rasInterFoam and icoDymFoam here to simulate 6DOF ship.

I need to have a multiphase model. so I guess I should use interFoam or interDymFoam to do this job. My model would be 2D and 3DOF which have mooring lines affecting the displacement of the rigid body.

I would appreciate any help...
Best regards

What is it with this forum and thread necromancy? This thread is five years old, and many of the original posters and participants are no longer active here. Finding old threads on top of the forums again is confusing, because it forces readers (like me) to read through the whole thread, just to find that it has been hijacked five times with questions different from the original topic.

If mary mor wants an answer, I strongly suggest that he/she post a new thread instead, and post a link to this thread as a reference (write something like: I found this old thread on the same topic, but is does not quite apply or answer my questions because ... hence I ask for your opinions.).

Mark,

I would recommend that you take a look at my wigley hull case:

http://idisk.mac.com/egpaterson-Public/wigley.tar.gz

It is similar to what you are doing and runs OK with the standard rasInterFoam solver.

Eric

The link to your wigley hull case appears to be broken. Would it be possible to get a copy of ?

Thanks
