Hi everybody,
I am new to OpenFOAM. Currently I am using OpenFOAM-1.5 Can you please tell me various boundary conditions available for inlet and outlet in OpenFOAM. I went through the user's guide but found it wasnt comprehenssive enough.

fixedValue, zeroGradient are commonly used for pressure, velocity, etc...

Hi Louis

Thanks a lot.
But what i actually wanted to know was whether we can define boundary conditions like velocity inlet or mass flow inlet or outflow, interior face etc. in OpenFOAM as we define in fluent

Hi Ameya, Yes you can speci

Hi Ameya,

Yes you can specify inlet velocity. I believe you can also specify mass flow but I haven't tried that.

To specify inlet/outlet velocity you need to edit the files located in the "0" directory of the case you intend to run. You might wanna look at the tutorials, you will clearly see how to do it. I think the simpleFoam/pitzdaily tutorial has inlet and outlet velocity ("U") and pressure ("p") conditions defined. That would give you something to start with.
