Hello,

I would like to simulate a transversely oscillating cylinder in a uniform flow, but with a fixed mesh to gain in computation efficiency. Theoretically, I just have to use non-inertial reference frame by adding an acceleration source, where the cylinder and the whole mesh remain fixed while the inflow boundary conditions oscillate.

Does anyone know how to do it? I've looked for MRF (Multiple Reference Frame) but it seems it is used mostly for rotational motion and not for translation.

(I'm using OpenFOAM 7, and I am new to the software)

Thank you.

Hi,
try 'overPimpleDyMFoam/cylinder/' tutorial
Immersed boundary may be useful.
