Hello,

I'm currently working on a new project where the spatial fluxes are calculated according to their kinetic description.

Did anyone try or has some experience in implementing this technique in openFOAM?

To clarify what I mean with kinetic description of the fluxes, I forgot to say that it's basically a flux splitting method. The spatial flux G of a variable is calculated as the sum of two contributions as:

G = G+ + G-

where, if we consider a cell i, f is a face of i, j is a neighbour of i along f, and n is the outward normal to the face f,

G+ = G+ (i, n)
G- = G- (j, n)

as explained for example in J. L. Estivalezes; P. Villedieu, High-Order positivity-Preserving Kinetic Schemes for the Compressible Euler Equations, SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, Vol. 33, No. 5. (Oct., 1996), pp. 2050-2067.
