Hi,
I'm trying to understand p-U coupling, but have no idea how to obtain initial PISO equation a_p U_p = H(U) - grad(p) from momentum PDE. Please, could you explain?

K.

I was looking there already and that doesn't answers my question. I'd like to start with theoretical explanation rather than looking through code files!

Thanks to Harvoje for making his thesis publicly available and full of useful information, but I'm missing explanation how equation 3.136 is introduced.

hi,

this paper helped me a lot, so maybe it's nice for you too?!:
Issa, "Solution of the implitly Discretised fluid flow equation by operator splittiing" in J. of Comp. Phys. No. 62, 1985, S. 40-65
there is another one about bouyant flow which might be interesting too..

It probably would be nice, if I could access it online... Since most of these articles are not for free, most likely I can't.
But thank you anyway!

another good paper on PISO is:

"The computation of compressible and incompressible recirculating flows by a non-interactive implicit scheme"

Journal of computational physics
1986
vol.62 pp66-82

it appears directly after the previously mentioned paper by ISSA, covers the application of piso.
