Hi, respected FOAMERS
First of all, i would like to thank openCFD people for this discussion forum. Moreover , thanks to all foamers from all over the world for your active participation.

I am interested in the combustion model being used in openfoam. I found that the combustion model used was weller flamelet combustion model. Please guide me towards its analytical model or its theory .... awaiting for your reply FOAMERS.....

Tabor, G.R. and Weller, H.G. (2004): "Large Eddy Simulation of Premixed Turbulent Combustion using Xi Flame Surface Wrinkling Model", Flow, Turbulence and Combustion, 72#1, pp 1 - 27

Nwagwe, I.K., Weller, H.G., Tabor, G., Gosman, A.D., Lawes, M., Sheppard, C.G.W. and Wooley, R. (2000): "Measurements and Large Eddy Simulations of Turbulent Premixed Flame Kernel Growth", Proceedings of the 28th Combustion Symposium

Weller, H.G., Tabor, G., Gosman, A.D. and Fureby, C. (1998): "Application of a Flame-Wrinkling LES Combustion Model to a Turbulent Mixing Layer", Proceedings of the 27th Combustion Symposium, pp 899 - 907

The first of these gives the most details of the theory. This is all refering to the LES formulation - the only source for the RANS formulation (which was the earlier formulation) that I know of is an Imperial College internal report; the details will be in any of these papers. The formulations are pretty similar though, so you may be able to get all the information you want from the published work

Dear Mr. Gavin Tabor (Happy Foamer),
I couldn't find the first publication from my college resources. It will be helpful if you could send me the link for the same or mail me the paper to kalaiselvan[at]gmail.com

Hi,
I am using OpenFOAM to simulate turbulent combustion. I need theoritical background of the model(XiFoam) used in OF. Could you please send me the weller flamelet model(Tabor, G.R. and Weller, H.G. (2004): "Large Eddy Simulation of Premixed Turbulent Combustion using Xi Flame Surface Wrinkling Model", Flow, Turbulence and Combustion).

Thank you.

Regards,
Achinta

Dear Mr. Gavin Tabor,
I am interested in the Weller combustion model too, so could you send me the first paper to the following mail address:
francesca.scaramuzzino86@gmail.com?

Thanks for your attention

Dear Mr. Gavin Tabor,

I am also interested at this topic, however, I can not find the papers in any source that I know.

Would you be so kind as to send me the papers to the following e-mail address:
novakm@karlin.mff.cuni.cz?

Thanks for your attention
Martin
