Can somebody please tell me if the following tolerances are read absolute (which dimension) or relative (to which reference): /OpenFOAM1.x.x/.OpenFOAM1.x.x/controlDict/ slidingPointMergeTol slidingEdgeMergeTol slidingIntegralAdjTol slidingEdgeMasterCatchFraction slidingEdgeEndCutoffTol slidingEdgeCoPlanarTol Hrv already answered this question, but I'm sorry I cant repeat the answer exactly. Therefore I wont post so nobody gets confusedhttp://www.cfd-online.com/OpenFOAM_D...part/happy.gif Maybe you could post the answer another time, Professor Jasak? The reason I've been asking this is because I'm struggling with sliding interfaces. Therefore, I wanted to know a little better what I'm doing. The problem is that some points are moved in such way that several faces are degenerated to lines and points. (some of them also seems reversed) Attached are some pictures to make things clear: master(red)&slave(green) at time 0 masterslider at time 0 tangential cut through sliding interface at time 0 broken case masterslider broken tangential cut through broken sliding interface Hopefully somebody can help me on this case. I'd love to but I've got no copy - if somebody received an E-mail version of the response, please slap it back in on my behalf.

After searching my E-Mail Account I finally found youre answer: Posted by Hrvoje Jasak on Thursday, November 22, 2007 - 03:50 am: Why do you need to know - they are there to be changed only by the experts (me!). The code should work without fiddling with the tolerances for all but pathological cases. For reference, all the tolerances are relative and calculated based on the local length of the relevant object in the action. Also, there are inter-dependencies between the tolerances which should not be violated. As I said, best left to the experts. If you wish to know how, have a look at the projection source code: slidingInterfaceProjectPoints.C Enjoy, Hrv |
