Hello!

We are trying to use OpenFOAM for computing highly compressible flows. Ideally, we would like to implement an approximate Riemann solver, such as the Roe method. This appears difficult, since the flux function requires solving the eigenvalue problem for the coupled system of equations (mass, momentum, energy). I would appreciate some hints on how this could be done.

Any experiences with OpenFOAM for compressible flows using some other algorithm would also be appreciated. What would be the best choice?

Best regards,
Henrik

Dear Henrik,

have a look to the website

and have a look to the abstract and the slides of the presentation:
