well me again. i want to ask if there is a known bug
for the nonlinear eddy-viscosity models. i did some channel-flow calculations and with the nonlinear models i always get no symmetry. everything (turbulent kinetic energy, dissipation, streamwise velocity) is on one side of the channel while the pressure fluctuates really hard. i did the calculation with simplefoam with empty boundary conditions in one direction, wall functions or wall boundary condition for the walls and outlet boundary conditions with fixed pressure for inlet and outlet (since it is a steady state fully developed channel flow this was the only possible boundary condition for my case). i did 100000 iterations while with k-epsilon models or rsm it converged after 6000 iterations with fine profils. where is the problem.....do i have to put a special solver on? i am using gamg for all variables. plz somebody help me :-) |
