Hello, I have just download

Hello,

I have just downloaded the last release of openFoam 1.4, and would like to use the
the new following boundary condition
"Mapping plane boundary condition, e.g. for fully-developed inlet conditions,
particularly for (but not limited to) LES."

I have looked at the new documentation document but did not find it.

I know you must be quite buzzy with the new relase,
but if you have some little time to let me know
where I can find an example to use the above boundary condition .. I will be quite happy.

Congratulations for the new added packages!

Thanks You

Anne

Here is the simpleFoam pitzDai

Here is the simpleFoam pitzDaily case with the directMapped inlet.

- after blockMesh overwrite the boundary file with boundary.orig (blockMesh resets the parameters)

- the directMapped patch definition gives the offset for the patch faces to find the cell (no interpolation!) to get the values from.

- the 0/ patch fields can now be of type directMapped and optionally maintain an average.

- it is not yet supported in decomposePar so
1) move 0 to 0-orig
2) change patch type in boundary file back to patch
3) decompose
4) change patch type in all processor*/boundary back to directMappedPatch
5) move 0-orig back to 0
6) decomposePar -fields

Hi Mattis,

I thank you a lot for your fast answer !
I am goint to try it.

Just one question: by "maintaining the average",
what does it mean ? I suppose it must more retlated to RANS than LES. (?)

Thanks you again,

Anne
