I use sample tool, but It only get the written time step's date.

how to get a data (e.g. pressure, U,) every time step on a cell or a plane? I want to get it to plot a curve like pressure vs. time.

Thanks.

When I run it on e.g. the cavity case I get in the samples/ directory results for every timestep.

You could check whether you have your data file (p, U) in every timestep. And that your sampling point/line is inside a cell.

That is to say I must write data file every timestep? I don't think that it's a good idea. It take a lot of hard disk resource if I compute a case of many grids and many steps(transient). Is there another way?

Thanks.

What you want is probably the 'probe' functionality in e.g. oodles. You'll have to add it to your application but that shouldn't be too hard.
